Place

“Of all the places you’ve lived, which one is your favorite?”

It was a casual conversation and a question I’ve been asked many times. Impossible to answer.

So I said the usual: “There’s something special about each one.”

But over the next days I reflected on the significance of place in our lives. What is it that lodges a certain location in our hearts and minds?

And I began to notice place in God’s Word.

“Please…”

“Please….”

Once again, Moses stands at the foot of Sinai. Also known as Horeb.

This time he’s not alone with the sheep.

But with a multitude. Led out of captivity.

A disobedient, fickle flock.

Trust in the Lord

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart….” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

All? Yes, all. Not the part. But the whole.

“Search me, O God and know my heart…” (Psalm 139:23-24)  And He does. Revealing hidden chambers. Locked tight. Corners where I hold fast to self-reliance. Secrets. Pride. Fear.

Can I trust Him with even these?  Yes.
