Temple

Extravagant. Magnificent. The temple and its building materials.

Enormous stones.

Gold and polished bronze.

The dedication is a ceremony to end all ceremonies.

Presence

Prayer of Solomon. And sacrifices for days.

The cloud filling the temple. Dark hiding the very Presence of the Lord.

“The Lord said that He would dwell in total darkness…” Solomon says.

All of this.

Then, the Lord’s one-on-one meeting with Solomon.

Covenant

God Almighty reminds him of covenant relationship.

The essential heart of integrity. And walk of obedience in all He commands.

Earlier He’s said, “As for this temple you are building….” Not “As for My temple.”

Temple

One day the whole concept of His Presence among us changes. Mystery revealed in the unexpected.

Jesus Christ coming.

And a temple built not with massive stones quarried. But living stones.

Joined together for God’s dwelling by His Spirit.

And those “prone to wander” cleansed once for all. By the blood of the Lamb.

Our cornerstone.

Work of His Spirit

Without Him we have no hope of eternal life with the Lord God Almighty.

For now, ongoing sanctification continues. As we walk with Him. Abiding in Christ day by day.

Our hearts of stone are made pliable. Responsive. Obedient.

By the work of His Spirit.

Glory. Glory. Hallelujah!
