New covenant.
Not like before. When glory shone on the mountaintop, obscured by clouds. Or in the tabernacle’s Holy of Holies, behind the veil.
Or the time glory filled the temple and no one could enter.
No, something changed.

Old covenant
Old covenant declared in stone and Law revealed sin separating humankind from a holy and righteous God. And so many requirements necessary for restored relationship.
Holding forth a standard we fall short of, before we even try.
In the early years, glimpses of His glory caused blinding radiance on the face of Moses.
So bright, a veil offered relief to those around him.
But this reflected glory faded. After a while.
New covenant
Then, Christ came. Fulfilling the Law. And the new covenant was written.
Not carved in stone. But on tablets of human hearts. By the work of the Holy Spirit.
Spirit of the living God. Remaining. Present. Always.
Indwelling believers.
Face to face
Those who follow Him, become living letters of Christ. An ever-growing number carrying the glory of the gospel.
Outwardly we may be weak and wasting away. But inwardly we’re being renewed day by day.
Ever anticipating the Day we meet our Lord face to face.
No veils necessary.
Glory. Hallelujah.

I certainly feel the physical weakness lately!
As I am reading Exodus again, I try to imagine the Cloud of God’s Presence. What an awesome sight!
Amen to that awesome sight. Hope you’re on the mend now.
