Engraved

Sin.
Engraved by diamond point.
Written with iron stylus.
On the tablets of their hearts
and ours.
Jeremiah 17:1

Permanent

Hardest natural substance on earth–
diamonds.
Cutting through anything.
Etching
the fixed label.
Permanent inscription.

Even there

And yet.
In the realm of impossibility.
The place of deep wounds.
And diamond-cut scars.
Even there.
The blood of Jesus Christ
washes clean.
Heals.
Makes new.

Engraved

And the Holy Spirit becomes the stylus.
Redemptive diamond point.
Etching His name.
Permanently.
On our hearts.
Engraved deep.
In our souls.
Forever His.
Alleluia.

“The sin of Judah is inscribed with an iron stylus.
With a diamond point
it is engraved on the tablet of their hearts
and on the horns of their altars….”
Jeremiah 17:1

“For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh. On the contrary a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart—by the Spirit, not the letter. That person’s praise is not from people but from God.”
Romans 2:28-29

“In [Christ] you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.”
Ephesians 1:13

“You show that you are Christ’s letter, delivered by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God—not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
2 Corinthians 3:3

What about you?

Did you ever think your scars and wounds were too deep? Too far gone for Christ to save and transform? Give thanks for the salvation He offers to all who will believe.

Reading the description of the tabernacle – I’m again awe-struck by the details – engraving the names of the tribes on precious stones that Aaron would wear in God’s Presence.
Hebrews 10 says God will write His laws on our hearts and I saw a similarity. Your examples are so rich! How deep the Father’s love for us! Thank you!

I would love to hear from you!
