“The Lord’s lamp sheds light on a person’s life, searching the innermost parts” (Proverbs 20:27).
Searching out secret compartments and hidden recesses that need to be opened. Exposed.
His lamp. Illuminating darkness.

Light. I don’t truly consider its absence. Until one memorable experience. During middle school.
Our family is in America on stateside assignment at the time. And touring historic sites or natural wonders across several states.
Then, one day, we’re standing in a large cave.
Lights all around.
Until someone turns them off.

Shepherd feet make paths. Up hills and through fields. As shepherds do what shepherds do.
Tending flocks. And keeping watch. Under sun and stars and moon. Alert for thieves and predators. Protecting the sheep.
And little do they know. Their ordinary feet are about to change. Into the extraordinary.
Beautiful feet.
