“The Lord’s lamp sheds light on a person’s life, searching the innermost parts” (Proverbs 20:27).
Searching out secret compartments and hidden recesses that need to be opened. Exposed.
His lamp. Illuminating darkness.

His lamp reveals
The Radiance we hold in these clay jars does the searching. In my innermost parts.
Revealing hold-backs. Fear. Discontentment. Pride.
All trying to hide in boxes marked prudence, concern, equality, entitlement.
Too often pride again raises its ugly head. And I try to defend or justify my attitudes and actions.
But His lamp reveals. Opens my eyes. Convicts of sin.
Help me
Lord, help this clay jar to learn from You. As Your lamp searches my inmost parts.
When Your Word exposes sin, teach me to humble myself and confess immediately. To receive Your forgiveness.
Lead me to rest in You. And wait upon You. With “simplicity of soul,” as Spurgeon puts it.
Held fast by Your love.
What about you?
How have you experienced the Lord’s lamp at work in your own life?
