“Please….”
Once again, Moses stands at the foot of Sinai. Also known as Horeb.
This time he’s not alone with the sheep.
But with a multitude. Led out of captivity.
A disobedient, fickle flock.
“Please…”
And after the golden calf incident.
After pleading with the Lord to not destroy the people who’ve chosen to turn away.
After pleading mercy for His name’s sake. For the sake of His glory among the nations.
Then. Moses says “Please….”
Not once, but twice.
First. “Please teach me Your ways, and I will know You, so that I may find favor with You” (Exodus 33:13).
Second. “Please, let me see Your glory” (Exodus 33:18).
Teach me
As followers of Christ, the Holy Spirit indwells us. And we can daily ask, “Please teach me Your ways. I want to know You and walk in obedience.”
And He is faithful to guide us into all truth. Reminding us of His Word. What is real and true.
About who God is.
And what He does.
His glory
And as we seek Him day after day, He reveals His glory.
Giving us glimpses of what we will know in full someday.
Over the past year, I’ve seen the radiance of believers on several continents.
People led out of captivity.
Now dwelling in the hope of the gospel, which is the power of God for salvation.
Around the throne
It’s a taste of what we will experience in His presence one day.
Not wandering sheep at the foot of Mt. Sinai.
But a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language. Worshiping around the throne. Together.
For now, we never stop knowing Him. More and more. Into the full light of Day.
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
