Don’t forget

Don’t forget
to watch
for His Truth
in
a world
of
not-so-reality
shows.

Listen

Don’t forget
to listen
for the wisdom
of the Word.
His.
Anchor in
the storm.
Weathering
the wind
of clamoring
opinion
traffic.
And commentary
gridlock.

Stand

Don’t forget
to stand.
Find your footing
on the Rock.
Steadfast.
Firm.
Holding on to grace.
While the world
presses.
Pushes.
Pulls.
And hearts
sag,
shift
in despair.

Remember

Don’t forget
to remember.
Remember the gospel.
Remember hope.
Remember the love
of the Lord
endures
forever.
Don’t forget.

What a wonderful series of poems, all different yet strung together, almost like text messages. Each offering up some simple, gentle, yet profound reminders in a “world of not-so reality shows,” and a world of “clamoring traffic and commentary gridlock, while the world presses,” concluding with an equally powerful, double-take phrase, “Don’t forget to remember!” all those things we need to listen to, stand on and remember. I thoroughly enjoy the structure, the word choices, and overall takeaway. Thanks. (Hum, more words in my reflection than in your original poems 🙂

I would love to hear from you!
