Keep writing

Picking up a pen. And opening my notebook to a fresh page. I keep writing.

Remembering times I’ve jotted down thoughts in Southeast Asia’s tropical humidity. Hands sticking to the paper. Ink smudging along the way.

Or cities on the subcontinent where I’ve huddled in a blanket. At my desk. On mornings when tile floors and no heat mean cold seeps into the bones.

Regardless, I keep writing.

Thank you

Three years ago this month, I took a deep breath. Then pushed the “go online” button. And launched a website.

Writing one blogpost every week. Stepping into many unknowns. Figuring out voice, style, content. Technology.

And I’m still learning. With 158 posts and counting.

So, shout out to Thanksgiving week. A good time to say thank you. I’m incredibly grateful.

One of my writing journals. I’m always looking for a good notebook.

The new year

Rise early in the morning. Just in time to walk out in the dark and witness the first edge of dawn. Pushing light against silhouetted trees, houses. Flooding pale hues of color across the sky.

No matter what happened the day before, whatever is taking place in this season—somehow the break of day clears the dark.
