Devotional Resurrection Day

Risen

“Christ the Lord is risen today! Alleluia!”

Our hope sings through warring-world brokenness. Where pain and fears are on the rise.

Destruction and devastating loss keep trying to write the story.

Evil roars. Seeking to hold captive peoples and nations.

Light

But our Prince of Peace speaks light in the dark.

Through cities and villages. Down the hall. Across the street.

Past gates and doors.

Crossing walls and borders. Piercing veils and armor.

Changing the message of graveyards and crematoriums.

Life

Resurrection shouts life forever.

Unexplained except by the power and glory of our King.

And we carry a message. Unlike any other.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 ESV).

Question

His only Son.

So many question this truth. How can it be?

Doubt pushes hard.

Until each one takes the step of faith.

To repent and believe.

Believe

Believe Jesus lived a sinless life—though He was tempted as we are.

Believe He took our sin upon Himself. An unblemished Lamb becoming the perfect sacrifice as He died on the cross.

Believe He was buried in a tomb. And on the third day, resurrected from the dead.

Believe He ascended to heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father.

He is risen

Christ the Lord is risen!

He is risen indeed.

This changes everything.

So praise the name of the Lord our God and spread the Good News.

For He alone is worthy.

My life has been differently scheduled the past months. I didn’t “feel” prepared for Easter. But as I joined our Friday & Sunday services and sat in silence on Saturday, God met me where I was. How fantastic that He cares for me!

Thankf you for sharing. I’m reminded in a more general sense of how important it is to participate in the Body even when we don’t “feel” prepared to be there. He is Faithful!

“This changes everything” was the theme of our life group lesson yesterday at church! I was the substitute teacher for that day, so privileged to dig into the thought! We don’t think about how the resurrection has literally changed everything, from the balance of history to our eternal destinies! Praise God for the Resurrection!

Thanks for reading. I'd love to hear from you!
