Communicate

Notes in the margin of my Bible. Next to Psalm 40:8-10. And words penned carefully on a back page.

Detailing an impression of His instruction.

“A calling to speak, proclaim, communicate, write. About Your righteousness, faithfulness, salvation, love, truth.”

Later, I express it in a succinct mission statement.

“To communicate Your glory in spoken or written word.”

Five years

This coming week, I celebrate the fifth anniversary of pressing “publish” and launching the website.

Five years of weekly blogposts. Now 260 and counting.

Another step of obedience. To communicate His glory.

Thank you

Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. For giving courage to keep on writing. Providing what I need. When I need it.

Thank you, Todd. For reading rough drafts. Making suggestions. And encouraging me all along the way.

Thank you, readers, who’ve taken time to stop by. And consider this mix of devotional and memoir.

With its stories of cross-cultural experiences. And offerings from what I’m learning in God’s Word.

Grace to you as you abide in Christ and walk by faith.

By the way

By the way, if you would like to receive a weekly email of the blogpost in your inbox, please subscribe below.

No spam. Just a first paragraph with a link to read the rest of the piece. If you’re so inclined.

No pressure.

These are posted every Sunday night (originally the idea was to provide a Monday morning reading for my friends who serve on the other side of the world).

Thanksgiving

“Lord my God, You have done many things—
Your wondrous works and Your plans for us;
none can compare with You.
If I were to report and speak of them,
they are more than can be told.”
Psalm 40:5

Happy Thanksgiving.
