At the school where our children study in Singapore, a woman sees the invitation for mothers to gather and pray.
So, she comes. Curious. Seeking.
I speak her heart language. So we meet later. And I explain the gospel.
In a subsequent meeting, she repents and believes.
Pigs rush en masse down the steep bank. To their demise. Leaving one madman behind.
Now clothed. Calm. Coherent. And in his right mind.
The news spreads. People come from town and countryside to see for themselves. Hear eyewitness accounts.
But their response is unexpected.
They don’t want Jesus to stay. In fact, they can’t get Him out of there fast enough.
Jars filled with water. Outwardly common. Inwardly plain.
Others know what we’re made of. See the flaws. Rough edges. They remember the ordinary ways we walk and talk.
But we surrender. To the One who receives this offering.
Such as it is.
