Lost

From a young age, I heard about Jesus and His love. Sang songs about Him. Listened as my parents read Bible stories. Our family prayed often.  I was loved and cared for.

And yet. 

And yet I was lost. Fearful. Felt the darkness. Something wasn’t right. And I knew it. “Do not lie” seemed to compel me toward that very thing. Lying.

Habit

The habit takes me to the necessary. Wherever we are and whatever state of settled or unsettled we may be in. 

Through the scattered parts of transition or life in general, it’s a habit that orders my day.  Puts priority in its proper place.

This habit, shaped and established over the years, has shaped and established me. It is daily focused time with the Lord. A discipline that keeps me abiding in Christ through prayer and the Word.

The morning views have varied through the years. This was one of my favorites.

Take up His yoke

The challenge given to us that day was purposeful. Powerful. 

To stay in the Word like our lives depend on it. Because they do. And to speak the Word like their lives depend on it. Because they do. 

We caught the urgency. To share with the millions. And with the neighbor across the street.
