Walk by faith? No matter what’s going on around me?
Somedays, I need to breathe a deep breath. Then take that first step.
It only takes one in the right direction to focus my heart.
Leaving behind preconceived to-do lists. Agendas. And turning to the one thing. Abiding in Christ.
Abide
Abide. Dwell. Remain in the Vine.
Taking in His living and active Word that slices through to the core. And reveals hidden hesitations. Gives light for the way ahead.
Then walk.
Moving in the way of the Way. Speaking true of the Truth. Living life in His Life.
This is not rocket science, as they say. But absolute surrender and dependence on our God and Father. Through His Son Jesus Christ.
His Spirit
And how on earth?
By the sustaining grace and power of His Spirit indwelling us, filling us to bear fruit. Much fruit.
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self control.
Fruit of a faith walk isn’t manufactured. Worked up. Self-sustained.
No, it’s flowing in and through us from the Source of life.
Freely received. So, freely give.
Walk by faith
In the midst of all that’s going on, take a deep breath. And walk.
Walk by faith.
“…We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him:
bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.”
Colossians 1:9-12 CSB
What about you?
Do you struggle to take that next step in the right direction? How has He encouraged you in your faith walk lately?

One reply on “Walk by faith”
Yesterday someone asked me how I balance my “rule-following” nature and give grace to others and to myself. I came back to KNOWING that God loves me and that none of this was my idea – He pursued me, wooed me, loved me and taught me. I don’t always get it right and I am grateful His love is unchanging.
