Crossing Cultures Making Disciples

Sent

Sent ones. Sowing seeds of the gospel.

Serving all across South America. For many, many years.

In 2022, we travel to Chile.

On our journey, we meet Chilean brothers and sisters in Christ. And hear stories. Testifying to the fruit of these servants who sowed seeds years ago and planted their lives.

For the glory of God.

Exiles

Exiles in Babylon.

God’s Word to them felt deeply personal to us. During a particularly violent and unsettling season.

People were leaving our city. Families sent back to their home countries. Anti-American sentiment had ramped up more than ever.

Should we leave?

At one point my dad—who never, ever tried to interfere or direct us in any way—wrote “In my daily Bible study I keep seeing the words, ‘Flee Babylon…flee Babylon.” (Jeremiah 49:30; 50:8,16; 51:6)

Why follow Jesus?

Why would someone risk their life to follow Jesus? Why give up all for Christ?

Eternal life with Him. Of course.

But so much more.

Across the years, we move. Entering new places. Living and learning in various cultures where following Jesus may cost everything.

And I consider a few of the many reasons for choosing Him. Why I can’t imagine life without my Lord.

Now and forever.
