Faithfulness

Faithfulness. My parents just celebrated a milestone. Their 66th wedding anniversary.

Sixty-six years traveling together across oceans. Living in tropical urban centers and American towns.

A journey marked by great joys. Victories.

And deeply painful losses. Hurts. Dark nights.

The thread running through it all? Faithfulness.

Faithfulness.

Preconceived

Preconceived outcome
looms.
Hinders.
Weakens the witness.
“Do you believe this is true?”
A simple question.
One I can ask
after
sharing the gospel.
But everything in my mind
braces for resistance,
remembering
frequent rejections.
Anxious thoughts pile up.
Expecting the “no.”

Provision

Trust in God’s provision? Tested. On hot days with no electricity.

Once-cool tile floors warmed our feet. And desert wind found its way through latched doors and loose windows.

No electricity. No pump. Thus, no water to the container on the roof which put water in our pipes.

During summers in Karachi, it was easy to fall into self-pity. And question God’s provision.

Silly, I know.
