Empty

Sitting on empty. In some seasons.

Even with daily seeking.

Even though I’m reading the Word. Praying.

Even as I walk in fellowship and family.

All those pieces and places usually keep my heart and mind filled to overflowing.

But now? Empty.

Empty. Image by Kelly Sikkema on Unsplash.

Stillness

Feeling the cavern.

Echoes in a hollowed space.

Reaching for new ideas. Seeking inspiration. Trying to put stories on paper.

But, nothing.

Only stillness.

Empty spaces

So I come with open hands to You.

Bringing empty spaces to the One who fills to overflow.

Overflowing hope.

In You, I am complete.

So I come.

Sit.

Wait.

Enough

In the waiting, I breathe.

And surrender.

Declaring You are enough in the empty places. Always.

And I am Yours.

“Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

What about you?

Have you ever felt empty, with nothing to give? How has the Lord taught you through those times?
