Does God see?
In crisis, I cry out. Not knowing how to pray.
Anxious thoughts and inner storms buffeting. Ocean waves pushing me to gasp for air.
Feeling weak.
Does He have a plan in this scary place? Has He forgotten where we are?

Does God see?
The psalmist speaks my language. Seeking the Lord. Refusing to be comforted.
Groaning as he thinks of God. So troubled he cannot speak.
And inner turmoil surges when he remembers the past. Pondering big questions.
Is God still at work? Has His faithful love ceased? Has He forgotten grace and compassion?
Hard thoughts. True feelings. Does God see?
Act of will
Then the psalmist teaches me to practice remembrance. Deliberately. An act of the will.
“I will remember….” Your works. Your ancient wonders. All You have done. (Psalm 77:11-12)
“I will…meditate on Your actions” (Psalm 77:12).
This practice leads to worship. Rehearsing who God is. And what He does.
“God, Your way is holy” (Psalm 77:13).
God who sees
The psalmist describes the depths. The storm and earthquake. And God whose way goes through the sea. The great waters see Him and tremble.
Then he speaks this telling detail, “…but Your footprints were unseen” (Psalm 77:19).
He is the God who sees. Every high wave. Each overwhelming part of the storm.
And He walks through. Our Shepherd.
With unseen footprints.
Leading the way.
What about you?
Have you cried out like the psalmist? What has the Lord taught you about seeking Him in the storm?

Our small group met last week after 2 months. Around the table, stories of hardships and struggles along with thanksgiving for God’s work.
I think the evil one tries to convince us that we are alone in our griefs and hurts. What a blessing to share both sadness and joy with the family of God.
Thankful for the Body to hear and pray for one another. And grateful the psalmist didn’t hide his questions!
Even in the midst of every trial, we have seen God working. When a bad diagnosis was given, HE was there. In a great loss, HE was there. When I confessed a wrong, HE was there. We praise you, Lord, for being the God who sees and is never silent. We praise you, Father, for your Faithfulness at all times!
Amen, sister!
He sees BEFORE the storm! And He already knows what we need to go through it…with Him. His hand in ours. His arms holding us close. His love, mercy and grace pouring over us. And WE will give Him glory. In all things. Soli Deo gloria.
So well said, sister. Praying with you today.
