“O come…” from traffic-lined streets,
and checkout counter gridlock.
“O come…” from decorating, gift-wrapping, baking, and more.
Set aside to-do lists.
Release expectations.
Embrace expectation.
Come close.
Draw near.
“…let us…”
Gather. In Spirit and in truth.
Inside elaborate sanctuaries, simple homes, and storefronts. Under trees and open sky.
Together. With brothers and sisters from nations, tribes, peoples, languages.
Members of the Body.
Parts of the whole.
Not going solo in worship and the sacrificial life.
But sojourning together. By faith.
We need “us.”
“…adore Him”
Turn your eyes upon Jesus. In adoration.
Together with shepherds and kings, believers across the millennia, the church today.
Declare His coming. The wonder. The mystery.
And worship. In candlelit stillness on starry nights. With joyous song in full light of day.
Glorifying the Name that is above every other name.
Majestic in resurrection power. Steadfast in love and compassion. Worthy of our praise.
“O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord.”
What about you?
How are you gathering with other believers to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth?

One reply on ““O come…””
Where I live, the celebration is focused on church because not everyone’s families believe. But the stores certainly push it as a time to give gifts! I’ve been watching this year, seeing gatherings of people and it encourages my heart because at least it is becoming about people!
