Picking up a pen. And opening my notebook to a fresh page. I keep writing.
Remembering times I’ve jotted down thoughts in Southeast Asia’s tropical humidity. Hands sticking to the paper. Ink smudging along the way.
Or cities on the subcontinent where I’ve huddled in a blanket. At my desk. On mornings when tile floors and no heat mean cold seeps into the bones.
Regardless, I keep writing.
Spilling words
Spilling words. On narrow lines. Into confined spaces.
Filling journals of all sizes. Bindings. And differing paper quality.
The narrow and confined space helps me focus. Follow thoughts that form in the quiet.
Penning willful and wandering sentences.
Ever watching for truth. His. In Scripture and in life.
Exploring. Finding treasure. And putting pen to paper. Hoping to communicate His glory through it all.
Keep writing
For six years, this blog has helped me stay disciplined. To write and publish various and sundry pieces of memoir, devotional, reflections on crossing cultures.
Today marks the 315th post.
Thank You, Lord.
And thanks to all who simply read. Occasionally comment. Kindly share. And bravely subscribe for the weekly reminder via email.
For now, I’ll keep writing.

Thanks you Susan for sharing your story every Sunday how God has been faithful.
Six years? It doesn’t seem that long, but I don’t trust my memory for time anymore. More and more “yesterday” has that Asian meaning! Thank you for faithfully sharing your heart!
Thank you for faithfully responding, sister.
I so look forward EVERY WEEK to your blog!!
That’s so special to me! Thank you.
Hi Susan,
Six years is about my time frame for writing too. The discipline even though I love to write comes hard sometimes. Other demands sabotage and the desire sits until I can “get to it”. I do love sharing what has worked for me and the biblical foundation of the practice to stay close to Jesus and bring Him glory. Love getting your emails.
Thank you for sharing. Keep writing! 🙂
Congratulations on your milestone and thank you for sharing all your wonderful insights. Your writing style has encouraged me to try my hand in devotional praises in a fresh way as I’m new to journaling. I look forward to each week’s post from your blog.
I’m so glad it’s encouraged you in journaling. Thank you for sharing.
