Early Sunday morning, my dad passed through death into the glorious presence of the Lord.
His faith became sight.
And we grieve. But not without hope.
For he is Home with our Good Shepherd and King.
Truly resting.
In peace.

John 11:25
This past week, as Dad moved into hospice care at my brother and sister-in-law’s home, we brought a few things to place near his bed.
One was a favorite piece of artwork. A decoupage of John 11:25 my little sister made when she was in elementary school.
It reminded her of our sister, Ann. Ann passed away at age 11, when Julie was only 5.
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies…’” (John 11:25).
He calls us Home
After Ann died, when I couldn’t sleep, my dad came and prayed with me. Reminded me that the Lord is with us. He never leaves or forsakes us.
The next day, he took me to the hospital to see Ann’s body. We talked about how it was only an empty shell now. She was no longer suffering. But resting in the Lord’s presence.
I think about that now. Thankful for a dad who helped me grieve. Who reminded me what is true in God’s Word. And taught me about walking by faith in this world.
Until He calls us Home.
