The gospel. Never failing to amaze and confound.
I think about this at Vacation Bible School this summer. In a room full of kids hearing testimonies from those sent to the ends of the earth. Sent to share the Good News in places where He is not known.
Then we bring it home to where they are. Today. Sitting on a carpet in an air-conditioned church building.
Jesus came that they too might have eternal life. And we tell the way of salvation.

Repent and believe
First, repent. Confess and turn away from sin.
Then believe. Simply acknowledge, embrace the truth of the gospel. And follow Jesus.
With these plain steps, people relinquish the emptiness. And no longer face the terror of eternal separation from God. The Holy Spirit indwells, placing His seal on each one.
“For God so loved the world, He sent His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Sacrificial Lamb
Jesus lived on earth. Walked our paths.
Yet without sin.
He died on a cross. Sacrificial Lamb of God taking our sin upon Himself.
He was buried in a tomb. Then raised from the dead on the third day. Victorious over sin. Triumphant over death.
Believe this and live.
Eternal life
“The one who has the Son has life…” (1 John 5:12).
Eternal life.
Not the vapor-length, wild-flower version. Here today and gone tomorrow.
No. This is life forever. In the Presence of Almighty God.
Made possible to all who will believe and receive His free gift.
So go and tell.
What about you?
Do you have eternal life in Christ? Have you shared this Good News with someone lately?

Our sermon yesterday was Acts 10. The speaker mentioned that God could have had the angel tell Cornelius but chose to send Peter – and both were blessed! How wonderful!
How wonderful, indeed!😊
My husband & I will soon host Cousin Camp 2025 with our 7 grandchildren. John 3:16 will be our focus verse. We have other things planned to point these young ones to Jesus!
Great plan 😊
