What are we to do?

In the long dark, we cannot see. Fog obscures the way ahead in a difficult situation. It’s complicated. A strange labyrinth of deceit. What are we to do?

We’ve prayed. For years. Crying out to the Lord our God. Pleading for the deceived to be set free. The broken healed.

Solutions offered but resisted. Denied. Every avenue tried, fruitless.

What are we to do?

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving week. My mind wanders back across the years and the miles. We’ve made some memories.

Turkeys in Shikarpur

One of the 1997 Shikarpur turkeys before his demise.

In November 1997 we traveled from Karachi to Shikarpur (Pakistan) and spent a few days with our friends living there. They’d happened upon two turkeys out in a rural area and were fattening them up for a Thanksgiving feast.

FYI, turkeys gobble-gobble in Pakistan too.

Living in exile

My reading this week is First Peter. An epistle I’m drawn to. Often.

Perhaps because it addresses those living in exile. Aliens. Temporary residents in foreign lands.

These are pockets of believers living out the gospel away from their passport country.

Away from large gatherings of the Body of Christ.
