Backroads. On the way to somewhere.
And we pass narrow paths disappearing into the woods. Trees tall and leafy obscure our view of where they’re going.
Deeper in.
Then, one day we take a path. Into a national forest.

“Meditate on the word of God.” I hear these words as a child. Not fully understanding what they mean.
But memorize, early on, “I have treasured Your word in my heart, so that I may not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11).
Treasuring His Word.
Learning right and wrong. Wisdom and foolishness. Truth and deceit.
That’s only the beginning.

False prophecy. False claims.
Rampant in Old Testament days. And today.
Hananiah uses the lingo of a true prophet. Sounding official.
“This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel says…. This is the Lord’s declaration…. This is what the Lord says…” (Jeremiah 28:2,4,11).
But he’s using the Lord’s name in vain.
