Gospel clarity

Speaking the gospel with clarity is necessary. Crossing cultures, we learn to think about the way we share. So that it’s understood.

Distorted perceptions of the gospel put up barriers. Foster misleading rumors. Confusing those who live in spiritual darkness. Sometimes for generations.

One volunteer team encountered a false perception as they provided disaster relief.

Taste of home

Favorite flavors and dishes multiply in the cross-cultural life.  Leading to this, that, or the other taste of home.

Our grocery cart is often a wild mix. With differing ingredients for the week’s menus.

One day, I buy okra and chickpeas for Indian curry. Snow peas, lemongrass and baby bok choy for a Chinese stir-fry dish. And Japanese mochi. An afternoon snack or dessert.

Each cuisine serves up memories as well.

Why follow Jesus?

Why would someone risk their life to follow Jesus? Why give up all for Christ?

Eternal life with Him. Of course.

But so much more.

Across the years, we move. Entering new places. Living and learning in various cultures where following Jesus may cost everything.

And I consider a few of the many reasons for choosing Him. Why I can’t imagine life without my Lord.

Now and forever.
