Fully pleasing?

It’s the all and fully and every that get me.

In all wisdom and spiritual understanding?

Fully pleasing to God?

Bearing fruit in every good work? Strengthened with all power?

Paul’s prayer

This past year, I hold close these verses. Memorize and meditate on them.

It’s a passage I pray often over the weeks and months of 2025. For friends and family members and strangers.

Paul’s prayer for believers in Colosse becomes my prayer.

Colossians 1:9-12.

Fully pleasing?

But, all and fully and every? O me of little faith. Praying this big ask.

And questions surface along the way.

How can one be fully pleasing, walking worthy, bearing fruit, growing in the knowledge of Him?

And the simple answer comforts: Abide in Christ and be filled with His Spirit.

 Abiding in Christ

Abiding in Christ is a daily practice. The moment by moment walk with Him. Living by faith.

Christ in us is the wisdom, courage, and equipping necessary for such a life.  Fully pleasing.

Believers keep growing in knowing Christ. For “in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:2-3).

Pray

As we enter 2026, take time to pray as Paul did. Even the all and fully and every.

“We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him:
bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.”
Colossians 1:9b-12

What about you?

Do you choose a verse annually to pray and focus on? What Scriptural prayer have you prayed lately?
