Without lenses, the world is one blurry shape after another for me.
Muted colors. Fading edges. Always a curious guess as to what they are.
And along the way, signs I cannot read.
So I move through. Blind in the blur.

With lenses
But with lenses, the world around me changes.
Trees suddenly transform. With richly-defined leaves and branches.
I see the road and its lines.
Read the signs in time to make that turn.
Word of God
When everything in life seems blurry and I cannot read the signs, I remember.
Hold close the Word of God. In order to see.
Draw near to black-on-white letters that define what is true. Clarify priority.
This set of lenses helps me know more of who He is. Teaches wisdom from the All-Wise. Reminds equipping and empowering of the Holy Spirit is how I bear fruit.
Lenses
It’s the old, old story. And ever new.
Narrative. Ordinary men and women seeking and serving an extraordinary God. Their failures, the consequences.
Undeniable divine intervention of the Almighty who sees and knows.
Ever-present thread of sacrifice and redemption. Then ultimate victory over sin and death.
Lenses. For walking by faith through this world.
Revealed
“I rejoice in the way revealed by Your decrees
as much as in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts
and think about Your ways.
I will delight in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.”
Psalm 119: 14-16 CSB
What about you?
Have you ever felt like you’re working through a blur? How has His Word been the lens of clarity for you?
