Worship Him

Christmas. Worship Him.

In the loud or silent.

Amid crowds or all alone.

At the table overflowing or simply breaking bread.

Surrounded by decorations and gifts, wrapping and ribbons. Or without all the fanfare.

In your home or at the church or elsewhere.

Worship Him.

Among the nations

Christmas looks different around the world. Among the nations.

Members of the Body of Christ worship Him. Celebrating the birth of our Savior in many ways. And in varying circumstances.

For some, the night is more silent. Threat and oppression continue.

Even as you read these words.

Worship Him

But no matter where or what or how, we come to our King. Taking time to open His Word and reflect on His glory.

Glory. Arriving as a baby. Wrapped in swaddling clothes. Laid in a manger.

And we worship Him.

Blessed Christmas to you all.

What about you?

Where will you celebrate the birth of our Savior this year? How do you take time to worship our King at Christmastime?

Christmas is solo for me. Although I did not come from church background that formally observed Advent season, I’ve adopted the seasonal practice for myself in the last few years using various Advent devotionals and Jonathan Gibson’s “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” liturgy for daily worship. I try to have Christmas decorations up by Thanksgiving in order to enjoy the season in relaxed fashion. Weather in Western Washington is usually wet, but this year’s historic regional flooding has repressed the celebratory societal feel as so many have lost everything in various places around the state. But still, God is with us in our ‘dark night’. Hallelujah to the King, our Comforter in dire times such as this!

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Like the little poor shepherd … i have nothing to bring to gift to my Savior -King ; except my poor fainting heart , on my knees, bowed n vowed to worship Him, Him, alone.
Amen

I’m away from my overseas home this year so traditions are different. The joy of worship with believers is beautiful even when it looks different from my usual.

Thanks for reading. I'd love to hear from you!
